CD-Explorer is an easy to use yet powerful disk catalog software that can be used for cataloging disks and files. Cataloging can be done automatically without user participation. Software recognizes new CD and keeps its file structure in database.

Additional feature of the program: CDEX is a powerful and fast file search utility. Even if you have more than million files in your catalog, searching wouldn’t be longer than few seconds. This is due to using ActiveX Data Objects technology. Searching by other means never can be so fast. ADO support included in Windows 2000 operating system and later versions.

Program keeps data in the Microsoft Access database file, so your friends can also browse your CDs without CD-Explorer.

Basic features

This program is intended to grab file structure information on a network drive or removable storage media and let you use it later while those drives are inaccessible. The basic features of the program:

In case of a removable storage media (for example CD ROM), Cataloging can be done automatically without user participation. Software recognizes new CD and keeps its file structure in database.
The user may create groups of media (for example: Movies, Music, Documents, Programs, Utilities, Databases etc.).
Files and folders fast search feature (useful for removable media or a network drive with slow access).
To execute programs and open files directly from the program. As well as in Windows Explorer or Windows Commander.
To input almost unlimited length comments for each file or a folder.
Gather the disks information without participation of the user.
Flexible export capabilities that let you export information concerning any part of files collection (text or html).

About CD-EXplorer

Trial version of CD - Explorer is the full-functional program, without essential restrictions. For registered users previously inaccessible option on the Options tab appears, also registered users get technical support from the author of the program and have an opportunity to receive the following versions of the program free-of-charge.

Next version of the program will contain following features:

Files and folders search using logical expressions with keywords AND & OR.
Archivers support (to provide an opportunity to preserve contents of archives in the base).

System requirements

No special software or hardware requirements (program is tested on Windows 2000, should work on Windows 98 etc.).
CDEX is ADO-based application. ADO libs included in variety of programs (Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Office 2000 for example).
